Use bike path money to fix up town’s roads

I just have a few comments concerning an article in last week’s Press, “Surveying for bike path begins next week.” Why is it that when the town or a group of folks want to build something like a bike path, which is supposedly going through wetlands, it doesn’t seem to be a big deal? Other than the $20,000 we have to spend to survey it.

With Rhode Island’s miles of coastline along the Atlantic Ocean, our marine environment is a precious resource. Protecting our beautiful and economically essential waters such as Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island Sound and Block Island Sound needs to be a top priority.

Earth not warming, wind turbine ‘bad idea’

Recent articles in the Press have featured numerous factual errors about climate change and omitted important facts about the proposed wind turbine.

• Statement: The earth is warming. Fact: The official measurement of global temperature has not increased in 10 years.

Library thankful for donated sound system

I really like living on Jamestown. A beautiful place, it has a wonderful population, friendly and helpful. The town employees are surprisingly pleasant.

Fire, police and rescue staff are compassionate

Over the past month I have needed to ask for help from the police, fire and rescue people. Never before have I been put in this situation, and I quickly learned how humbling it is to ask for help.
