Police Log

From April 8 to April 14, the Jamestown Police Department responded to 348 calls resulting in 206 security checks of vacant homes, businesses and public buildings. The police also responded to 15 emergency calls, six animal complaints resulting in one citation, two parking complaints, and two alarms. Officers conducted 19 traffic stops resulting in seven arrests.

Warrant

• Edward Howard, 37, of Randall Street, Pawtucket, was charged April 8 with two bench warrants issued from 6th District Court in Providence. According to police, Howard was pulled over on North Road at Weeden Lane. He was transported to the police station and processed. Howard was then transported to 2nd District Court in Newport for arraignment.

• Dana Checrallah, 52, of Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown, was charged April 9 with a bench warrant issued from 4th District Court in Wakefield. According to police, Checrallah was arrested at his home following an investigation. He was transported to the police station, processed and arraigned by a justice of the peace. Checrallah was released after posting bail.

License

• David R. McHale, 72, of Middlebridge Road, South Kingstown, was charged April 12 for driving with an expired license. According to police, McHale was pulled over on North Road for failing to stop at a stop sign. He was issued a summons and released. A court date was scheduled for May 9 at 2nd District Court in Newport.

• Victoria K. Sokolowski, 26, of Steamboat Street, Jamestown, was charged April 12 for driving with an expired license. According to police, Sokolowski was pulled over on Route 138 for an equipment violation. She was issued a summons and released. A court date was scheduled for May 9 at 2nd District Court in Newport.

• Malvern H. Cunningham, 53, of Vanwyck Drive, Poughkeepsie, N.Y., was charged April 13 for driving with a suspended license. According to police, Cunningham was pulled over for littering from his vehicle on Route 138. He was transported to the police station, processed and released. A court date was scheduled for April 25 at 2nd District Court in Newport.

DUI

• Chelsea A. Burns, 23, of Gideon Lawton Lane, Portsmouth, was charged April 12 for driving under the influence of alcohol, refusing to submit to a chemical test, and possession of marijuana. According to police, Burns was pulled over after she drove onto a lawn on Seaside Drive. She was transported to the police station, processed and arraigned by a justice of the peace. Burns was released after posting bail.

• Frank T. Tebou, 23, of River Avenue, Providence, was charged April 13 for driving under the influence of alcohol and refusing to submit to a chemical test. According to police, Tebou was pulled over on East Shore Road after staff at the bridge authority reported seeing Tebou sleeping in his vehicle on Bay View Drive. Tebou was transported to the police station, processed and arraigned by a justice of the peace. Tebou was released after posting bail. A court date was scheduled on April 18 at 2nd District Court in Newport.
