Winners announced in annual contest

Winners in the annual Village Beautification Contest, sponsored by the Quononoquott Garden Club, were presented with certificates from the club in honor of their beautiful plantings around the village.

In the category of in-ground gardens, Ocean State Scuba took first place. Ken’s Hair Styling for Men came in second, and the Jamestown Senior Center took third place. In container gardens, Conanicut Marine Services took both first and second place for their shops at East Ferry and on Narragansett Avenue, and the Cathryn Jamieson Salon came in third. In window boxes, Mansions & Manors received the first place award. Island Realty took second place, and Tricia’s Tropi-Grille garnered third place.

The garden club thanks everyone who contributed to making the town more beautiful.
