Magician to perform at library
Rainbows and snow storms: The magic and comedy of Harry Leaman
Jamestown library’s Summer Reading Program, “Read Up a Storm,” will present a free performance for children ages 4 through 10 and their families by magician Harry Leaman at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9, in the library’s meeting hall.
Leaman’s performance combines magic with comedy. Parents or caregivers are encouraged to attend. Leaman will present a 45-minute magic/comedy show where rainbows appear and disappear and a snow-storm is brewing. Attendees become part of the show with lots of audi-ence participation.
Leaman has been performing magic since his early childhood throughout New England. He has also performed all over the world with his wife Pat and family, billed as “The LEAMANS.” He has appeared on television on the Sunup Show in California, and is cur-rently performing at parks, fairs, festivals, private parties, and corporate events throughout New England.
Leaman has mystified the patrons of Dave and Busters at Providence Place Mall every Friday and Saturday night, for two and one half years. His brand of magic and comedy has left his audiences well entertained, drawing comments such as, “You’re great!” and “That’s incredible!”
The 2005 statewide Summer Reading Program is sponsored by the Friends of the Jamestown Philomenian Library, the Rhode Island Office of Library and Information Services, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the McDonald’s Restaurants of Rhode Island, and Coast 93.3 Kidz n’ Family.
