Outside garden watering limited to odd, even days

The basic water conservation rules for people on the municipal water system will continue through October, Public Works Director Steven Goslee told the Town Council Monday.

The rules provide that no town water can be used for lawn irrigation between June 16 and Oct. 31.

The washing of boats, houses, and motor vehicles is also banned.

Currently, vegetables and flowers can be watered with a handheld hose for 15 minutes on weekdays on even-numbered days at properties with even-numbered addresses and on odd-numbered days at properties with odd-numbered addresses. There is no watering on Saturdays and Sundays.
