Time’s running out to complete library survey
On Aug. 4, the Jamestown library sent out a community survey in preparation for writing a new long-range plan.
A long-range plan is a requirement of the Office of Library and Information Service. Each library in the state receiving state funds is required to provide the OLIS with an updated plan.
The Jamestown library is operating under a plan written in 2000 that expires in December 2005. The next plan will be a three-year plan.
The four-page survey includes information about the library, a survey about services provided by the library, and a survey of the library user.
The survey was included in the Aug. 4 Jamestown Press, mailed to each household on the island.
It can also be downloaded at www.jamestownri.com/library by clicking on “Survey and Long Range Plan.”
Completed surveys can be returned to the Jamestown library, the Jamestown Town Hall or the Jamestown Town Offices by Aug. 31.
