Presentation on Plum Beach Lighthouse planned
The dramatic restoration of the Plum Beach Lighthouse in North Kingstown will be the topic of a presentation by Keith Lescarbeau, president and owner of Abcore Lighthouse Restoration Co., at the South County Museum on Oct. 6 at 7 p.m.
Meanwhile, the museum will host an exhibit and display, titled “The Life and Skills of a Lighthhouse Keeper,” by Marine Tech students at South Kingstown High School from Sept. 30 to Oct. 9.
The Plum Beach project was documented on film by Emmy Awardwinning photographer David Zapatka with narration by Doug White of Channel 10 News. Among other restoration projects handled by Abcore was Narragansett Towers.
Both presentations are part of CoastWeeks, a program sponsored by the Rhode Island Coastal Institute.
Admission to the lecture is $2.50 for museum members and $5 for nonmembers.
