Historical society elects new officers
The Jamestown Historical Society elected new officers and directors at its annual meeting held Aug. 11 in the Jamestown library.
The new president is Rosemary Enright, formerly the vice president. She takes over from past president William Burgin.
Harry Wright is the new vice president. Jane Miner will continue as secretary, and Marion Pierce will continue as treasurer.
Newly elected directors for 2008 are Dick Allphin, Sue Maden, Maureen McGuirl, and Linnea Petersen. Mary Jane Murphy was elected as a director to fill in for John Murphy, whose term expires in 2006.
Directors continuing to serve are Joe Logan, until 2006, and Dick Hines, John Horton, and Ken Newman, until 2007.
