Students to tee off after school

The Jamestown Education Foundation is offering aspiring Tiger Woods’ a chance to learn the game of golf.

An after-school beginner golf program will begin Tuesday, Sept. 6, and run from 3 to 4 p.m. for four weeks.

An assistant golf pro from the Newport Country Club will instruct students on grip, posture, stance, alignment, iron play, fairway woods, and chipping.

Space is limited to 10 children in grades 3 to 8 and is open to Jamestown residents. Registrations are now being taken, and the cost is $15 per child. Financial assistance is available. No golf clubs are necessary.
