Creative writing workshop offered at Watson Farm
The Watson Farm at 455 North Main Road will host a creative writing workshop Saturday, Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. to noon.
This will be the third in a series of seasonal workshops that use the unique landscape of Watson Farm as an inspirational tool for developing awareness to fuel the creative writing process.
Andrea Davis, who has been teaching creative writing for 15 years, will conduct this two-hour workshop. Davis will encourage participants to explore the natural and manmade environment at Watson Farm, to notice seasonal changes, moods, sounds, and colors. Examples from poetry and literature will be used to illustrate how writers have used seasons, places, objects, animals, and plants to trigger emotions and self-expression through the written word. No prior creative writing experience is required, though the workshop is geared toward the adult student.
The cost per workshop is $8 for Historic New EnglandSPNEA members, is $10 for nonmembers. Space is limited so registration is required. Call 4230005 or visit www.HistoricNewEngland.org.
Watson Farm is open for the season from June 1 through Oct. 15, Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday from 1to 5 p.m. Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors, and $2 for students. Kids six and under get in free.
