Boat motor stolen

A member of the Conanicut Yacht Club told police Oct. 4 that a 5hp outboard motor was stolen from his dinghy. The value of the motor was given as $1,367.

Potting soil stolen

An employee of a business on Narragansett Avenue reported the theft of some bags of potting soil. A male juvenile was later charged in the theft and turned over to Family Court, police said.

Vandalism reported

• A town employee reported Oct. 11 that many pieces of equipment at the Jamestown Community Playground on North Main Road were spray-painted with orange circles.

• Alibrary employee told police Oct. 8 that some small pine trees had been uprooted and thrown in the parking lot. The report also included that a number of crabapples were thrown against the building, police said.

• A Pennsylvania Avenue man told police Oct. 8 that a sliding glass door was shot with a BB gun.

• A man from Coronado Street reported Oct. 9 that a “For Rent” sign on his property was damaged.
