A patrol officer discovered four teens drinking in a car on Freebody Drive, Oct. 21.
The two males, both 17, and two females, one 17 and the other 16, were found with open cans of Budweiser and a bottle of Captain Morgan Rum.
They were all charged with possession of alcohol by underaged persons and were scheduled to appear Oct. 25 in Family Court, police said.
Suspended license charged
Georgiana Smith, 48, of 79 Neptune St., was charged Oct. 20 with driving with a suspended license and was discovered to have an outstanding warrant for failing to pay a fine, after a traffic stop on Tashtassuc Road.
Smith paid the fine, was released, and is scheduled to appear in Newport District Court for a pre-trial hearing Oct. 28, police said.
A woman from Neptune Street reported Oct. 19 that several pieces of jewelry were missing from her house.
Gone was a diamond bangle bracelet, worth $2,500, a gold pendant, valued at $1,000, and other assorted pieces with a combined value of approximately $500, police said.
A business owner at Ferry Wharf told police Oct. 23 that some 18 trees had been unlawfully removed from the beach opposite BankNewport.
Bounced checks reported
An employee of the Jamestown Golf Course told police Oct. 19 that they had received three checks that bounced from the same customer.
