Annual jog a big success
The 17th annual Jamestown Jack O’ Lantern Jog 5K Road Race was held this past Sunday. Approximately 155 runners and walkers participated. I would like to thank this year’s sponsors: World Trophies, the Jamestown Substance Abuse Prevention Task Force, Crystal Springs Water Co., Runner’s World magazine, and the Jamestown Press.
I would also like to thank all the local businesses that made donations for our free raffle: theSecret Garden, Central Garage, Trattoria Simpatico, House of Pizza, East Ferry Deli, R & R Gallery, the Jamestown Golf Course, the Oyster Bar, and Jamestown Hardware.
In addition, I would like to thank everyone who helped out the day of the race: the Jamestown Police Department, the Jamestown Fire Department, the Jamestown Emergency Medical Services, Paula Swistak, for her help in passing out T-shirts.
Thank-you to the recreation department staff, Ron Parfitt, Cyndee Reppe, Jim McLoughlin, Rob Goode, and Nate Nordstrom for their hard work leading up to the race and on race day. Thanks again to everyone who helped make this year’s jog a success.
All proceeds from the Jack O’Lantern Jog will be used to help make improvements at the Community Center.
