Sunday was a perfect day for jogging pumpkins

William “Bucky” Brennan strutted his stuff as a Hooters waitress for the annual Jack O’Lantern Jog. For anyone who does not recognize Brennan, he is a second-term member of the Jamestown School Committee. For anyone who does not recognize Brennan, he is a second-term member of the Jamestown School Committee. Some 155 participants took to the streets of Jamestown to participate in the 17th annual Jack O’Lantern Jog.

Sunday’s weather was perfect, dry and seasonally warm. Runners not in costume were comfortable in T-shirts and shorts.

Prizes were given to those runners who participated in various costumed categories.

The winner of the Fastest Costume was Brian McNeiece, who ran as Batman. The Best Costume award was given to Chris Cowen for his pig outfit.

Zoe Mazzulli and Amanda Mazzulli took the Best Duo award for their “Pumpkin pair” costumes, and Amina Brown won the Best Youth prize for her witch outfit.

The Hardest Costume to Run In prize went to Tammy McNeiece, whose “Mother and Child,” suit wowed everyone.

The Father and daughter team of Zoe Mazzulli and Armand Mazzulli won for the Best Duo in the Jack O’Lantern Jog held Sunday. The top three men overall were: 1) Ryan Blazejewski of Wakefield, with a time of 17:47; 2) Dave Schaad, of East Greenwich, with a time of 18:05; and 3) David Haffner, of North Smithfield, who came in at 18:48.

Top women were: 1) Andrea Brayman, of Jamestown, with a time of 19:42; 2) Erica Checko, of Newport, who came in at 22:44; 3) Sheila Ryan, of Narragansett, with a time of 22:51.
