Islander to play at one of two concerts at URI

The concert begins at 8 p.m. Two free concerts by the URI Music Department’s small chamber ensembles are among the musical offerings on tap this weekend, Nov. 1920.

The top-rated Undergraduate Honors String Quartet, which offers public concerts once each semester, will give its fall concert on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 8 p.m. Jamestown resident Lydia Lis plays violin in this group.

The regular chamber ensembles, which include flute, clarinet, trombone, and saxophone ensembles, plus a string quartet and a cello quartet will perform on Sunday at 7p.m. Both concerts will take place in the Fine Arts Center Concert Hall on URI’s Kingston campus.
