Robert Barry to visit library for book-signing
First published in 1963, the book was recently re-released in full color and continues to entertain new generations of children each holiday season.
In the tale, Mr. Willowby receives a tree that’s just a tad too tall for his mansion, so he has his butler chop off the top and dispose of it. What then becomes of the top of Mr. Willowby’s tree will delight everyone who hears the cheery holiday story.
Author Robert Barry, a resident of Newport, will be on hand to talk about how the book was created. People who attend the reading are invited to bring along their own copies of the book to be signed by the author. New copies will also be available for purchase and signing.
Sponsored by the Friends of the Library, the event is free and open to the public.
