Sled dogs ‘mush’ at the library today

Sean Leach, the president of the Narragansett Bay Sled Dog Club, will bring two of his sled dogs, their sled, racing and training equipment, photographs, and enthusiasm to explain his sport. This free event for children ages to 11 will be held in the library meeting hall on Thursday, Dec. 15, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Registration is not required.

Pageant rehearsal is this Saturday

The costume fitting and dress rehearsal for the annual Christmas Pageant will be held this Saturday, Dec. 17, at 10 a.m. at the Community Center.

The pageant itself is set for Saturday, Dec. 24, beginning at p.m. on the lower Shoreby Hill Green. It is a living tableaux of the humble birth of Jesus Christ in a stable in Bethlehem.

Anyone going to the pageant should bring a flashlight for safety purposes and to read the Christmas carol song sheets. There will be no pageant if it rains.

Gingerbread house workshop Tuesday

The Jamestown library is holding a Gingerbread House Workshop for children ages 7 to 11 on Tuesday, Dec. 20, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Registration is required for this free workshop, which is sponsored by the Friends of Jamestown Philomenian Library. Santa to visit the fire station next week

Santa Claus will visit the Jamestown Fire Station on Thursday, Dec. 22, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The jolly ole elf will listen to everyone’s holiday wishes and pass out treats to all good little boys and girls.
