Grants available for island arts groups
Non-profit organizations that want to provide quality performing arts to residents of Jamestown are invited to apply for a grant from the Jamestown Fund for the Performing Arts at the Rhode Island Foundation.
Created in 1983 to support the performing arts on the island, this fund was established from the remaining funds of the Jamestown Theater Inc., which included proceeds from the sale of the Bomes Theatre building.
Non-profit arts, education and human service organizations are eligible to apply for grants that will range from $500 to $1,000. Preference will be given to organizations that provide matching resources in funds or in-kind services.
The deadline for submitting applications is Jan. 13, 2006.
For additional information or to obtain an application, go to the Receive/Other Funding Opportunities page of the Rhode Island Foundation’s Web site www.rifoundation.org, or contact Libby Monahan of the Rhode Island Foundation at 274-4564.
