Flu clinic at South County Hospital

South County Hospital Healthcare System will hold a public flu vaccination clinic on Saturday, Dec. 17, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Wakefield Mall. The flu clinic will be open to everyone.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, a flu vaccination is highly recommended for everyone aged 65 and older, all pregnant women, and adults with chronic conditions such as asthma, heart disease, lung disease, kidney disease, diabetes or anemia. Flu vaccinations are also highly recommended for adults with weakened immune systems caused by cancer or cancer treatment, healthcare workers, residents of nursing homes or long-term care facilities, and anyone living with or caring for a child aged six-months or younger.

The flu clinic will accept all major insurances, including Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare-managed senior coverage, and all commercial Blue Cross insurance. For anyone without insurance, the fee for the vaccination is $27.
