Janet Walls, 70

Conanicus Avenue died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2005 at Village House in Newport. She was the wife of Alden R. “Skip” Walls Jr. for 51 years.

Born in Worcester, Mass., the daughter of the late Earle D. and Dorothy (Smith) Taber, she lived in Wilton, Conn., for 32 years before moving to Jamestown 19

Mrs. Walls was a claims administrator for United Health Care for 12 years before retiring in 2000. She had previously worked at Wilton High School for 17 years. A member of the St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Jamestown, she served on various committees, was a former member of Wilton Congregational Church. She was a member of the Quononoquott Garden Club.

Besides her husband she leaves three sons, Andrew D. Walls of Richmond, Va., Garrett

A. Walls of New York, N.Y., and Jeffrey R. Walls of Kingston, R.I.; a brother, Jeffrey D. Taber of Bristol, R.I.; and five grandchildren.

Her memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 31, at 11a.m. in St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 87 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the RI Alzheimer’s Association., 245 Waterman St., Providence, RI 02906 will be appreciated.
