Cure the winter blahs with art classes at museum
Beginning in early January, the Newport Art Museum will offer a number of Saturday workshops for adults and after-school and Saturday art classes for teens.
“What better thing to do than art, during the long winter days when you can’t be out gardening or on the beach!” ” said Judy Hambleton, director of education.
In addition to the workshops and classes mentioned here, the museum offers a full range of art classes each quarter, from art history and calligraphy to painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. For a full listing of all classes and workshops offered in the winter 2006 quarter, pick up a winter art class brochure at any of the museum’s three buildings or call the Coleman Center, the museum’s art school, at 8482787 and request a copy by mail.
