A chorus of thanks

The Jamestown Community Chorus has many people and businesses to thank for promotion of the Dec. 10 and 11 holiday concerts held at the Central Baptist Church.

The attendance at both performances was outstanding. It was the first time in many years that we ran out of concert programs on Sunday!

We’re sure that added enthusiasm for these concerts must have been an overflow from the chorus’ recent participation at the Rhode Island Festival Chorus production of RISings in November. The chorus repeated several selections that they sang in Veterans Memorial Auditorium, including Bill Karl’s “Prayer for Peace.”

Our appreciation not only goes to Baker’s Pharmacy, Jamestown Hardware, and the Secret Garden for being ticket agents, but also to McQuade’s Marketplace, Central Baptist Church, and to you, the people of Jamestown and surrounding communities, who have been supporting this chorus for over 56 years.

Our special thanks, as always, to the staff of the Jamestown Press, who month by month and year by year promote the best in choral music on Conanicut Island in their weekly hometown newspaper.

Marion Gomez,

publicity director, Jamestown Community
