Plant society lecture this Saturday in Bristol

The Rhode Island Wild Plant Society will host a slide lecture called “Discover our Vanishing Coastal Wildflowers” by author and ecologist Mario DiGregorio on Saturday, Jan. 14.

Beginning at 2:30 p.m., the lecture will be at the Audubon Environmental Education Center, 1401 Hope St. in Bristol. This event is free and open to the public.

DiGregorio is the author of “Cape Cod Wildflowers, A Vanishing Heritage.” He will share his stunning photography and wealth of knowledge on coastal wildflowers. A book sale and signing will follow the lecture.

The wild plant society has announced a list of winter “Walks and Talks.” These events for January and February are available by calling 453-3777 or visiting the the society’s Web site at www.riwps.org.
