Workshop to discuss humanities grants

The Preservation Society of Newport County and the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Newport County will co-host a public workshop by the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at the Preservation Society’s main headquarters at 424 Bellevue Ave., in Newport, beginning at 4:15 p.m.

An independent state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, RICH’s mission is to inspire and support intellectual curiosity and imagination in all Rhode Islanders through lifelong learning in the humanities.

RICH’s public programs include readings and discussions, currentevents public panels, and radio shows. RICH also maintains an active Speakers’ Bureau, and partners with national programs in literacy, public policy, and civic engagement.
