Pennfield School holds admissions open house
The Pennfield School, 110 Sandy Point Ave., Portsmouth will hold Admissions Open Houses on Saturday, Feb. 11, from 9 to 11 a.m. and on Thursday, Feb. 23, from 8:15 a.m. to noon.
Interested families are invited to come and hear a presentation by Rob Kelley, head of school, and to tour the school’s facilities. Pennfield School has a tradition of high academic standards.
For prospective students entering grade 5 or 6, scholarship exams will be offered on Feb. 16, 21, and 22. A scholarship in the amount of $5,000 will be awarded to a student seeking admission to grade 5 and to a student seeking admission to grade 6. The awards will be made based on academic merit. Recipients are invited to apply for additional financial assistance, based on need.
The Pennfield School is an independent, co-educational day school which offers classes to students beginning with three-year-olds and continuing through the eighth grade. The program is a mix of contemporary and traditional approaches to education with an emphasis on building a strong foundation in basic skills. Foreign languages, the arts, computer lab science, and a full program of physical education and athletics are offered. Applications for the 2006-2007 school year are now being accepted.
