Small business help topic at next chamber breakfast

The Jamestown Chamber of Commerce will continue its Winter Breakfast Series on Thursday, March 23, with "RI Small Business Assistance" as the topic.

Featured speakers will be Mark Hayward, district director for the U.S. Small Business Administration and John Collins of SCORE: Counselors to America's Small Business. Open to the public, the session will be held at the Bay Voyage, 150 Conanicus Ave., from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.

"This is a wonderful topic for the current business owner or person thinking about starting a new business," said John McCauley, chamber board member and breakfast series co-ordinator.

"There are many resources out there" for financial assistance, networking, business counseling, "but people don't know what they are or how to access them. This meeting will help guide business owners through the resources available both on the local and national levels," he said.

The breakfast session is $7.50 for chamber members and $15 for non-members and includes a buffet breakfast. Registration is required. Payment, by cash or check, may be made at the door.
