Home invasion arrests
Three young men were charged March 4 with several counts after a residence break-in March 3.
Joseph D. Pinheiro, 19, of 161 Beacon Ave., was charged with a felony assault with a dangerous weapon, simple assault, malicious property damage and two counts of breaking and entering. Brendan A. Gladding, 20, of 18 Bay St. was charged with simple assault and two counts of breaking and entering, and David J. Gladding, 19, also of 18 Bay St. was charged with two counts of breaking and entering.
Police said the three men entered a home, got into an argument with a guest of the house, caused property damage, then left, only to return approximately 45 minutes later, when the alleged felony assault occurred.
The three men are scheduled to appear March 16 in Newport Superior Court for a determination hearing, police said.
Drunk driving charged
Robert R. Saraceno, 53, of East Greenwich was charged with drunk driving after a traffic stop for erratic driving on Route 138 westbound. Saraceno is scheduled to appear March 10 in Newport District Court, police said.
Suspended license charged
Seth D. Cobaugh, 24, of North Kingstown was charged March 5 with driving with a suspended license after a traffic stop on East Shore Road.
He is scheduled to appear March 17 in Newport District Court, police said.
A woman from Beavertail Road told police March 3 that her mailbox and post were damaged, probably by a snow plow, police said.
A contractor working on Seaside Drive reported March 1 that his work trailer was entered during the night and several power tools were taken. Missing was a nail gun worth $250, a compressor worth $330, a power planer worth $125, a belt sander worth $200, and six other tools worth about $1,000, police said.
