Michael David Turillo Jr., 23

Michael David Turillo Jr., 23, of Lawn Avenue died Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at Newport

Hospital after a courageous battle with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Born in Portsmouth,

N.H., he

was a son of Michael D. Turillo Sr. and Laura A. (Robertson ) Turillo and the step-son of Cynthia A. (Rodriguez) Turillo all of Jamestown.

He graduated from North Kingstown High School in 2001 and was involved with the mentoring programs with Perspectives and Life Inc. Michael was an avid collector and gamer and enjoyed graphic arts. He and his father were extras in the movie Me, Myself & Irene, and he was the recipient of a trip to Disney World from the Make a Wish Foundation.

Michael was able to fly a plane as part of Mission of Hearts. He was a warrior, fighting his disease with strength and courage. He had a great sense of humor and was a caring son and brother.

Besides his parents, Michael leaves his siblings, Ammie White, Cyanna, Alexis, Paul and Jordan Turillo, all of Jamestown; his paternal grandfather, Domenic Turillo of Jamestown; his maternal grandfather, Nick Robertson of Jamestown; his step-grandmother, Elsie Medeiros of Seekonk, Mass.; and a niece, Jaydin White. He was the grandson of the late Judith Robertson and Dorothy Turillo.

His funeral service was held Tuesday in St. Matthew's Episcopal Church. Burial was in Cedar Cemetery.

The Turillo family would like to extend their gratitude to the past and present personal aides that cared and loved Michael throughout his illness.
