Baseball registration for new major league players is now closed. Returning major league players need to submit their registrations by Friday, April 7, or risk losing their spots on the team. Also, registrations for rookie league and instructional league will continue to be accepted until tomorrow, Friday, April 7. Contact Tony Rafanelli, 423-3953.

There will be a mandatory meeting of all major and minor league coaches on Saturday, April 8, at 8 a.m. at the Jamestown Police Station conference room. Major and minor league teams will be formed. All parents who volunteered to be coaches and assistant coaches for rookie and instructional leagues are asked to attend a similar mandatory meeting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, again at the police station conference room.

Open baseball practices for all age groups will occur on Tuesday, April 11, Thursday, April 13, Saturday, April 15, and Sunday, April 16. The Tuesday through Thursday practices will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The Saturday practice will be at 9 a.m. and Sunday practice will be at noon. Coaches and parents will be needed to help out. All practices will be at the Lawn Avenue ball fields.

The Jamestown Baseball Association is asking various civic organizations to consider sponsoring recycling receptacles. Contact Tony Rafanelli, 423-3953, for information. Also, the league is in need of a weatherproof public address system.
