Island's annual Easter egg hunt this Saturday

The Jamestown Women's Club will hold its annual Easter egg hunt this Saturday, April 15, at 10 a.m. sharp on Shoreby Hill Green.

Prizes will be awarded in various age groups: pre-K and kindergarten, first and second grades, and third and fourth grades. Fifth and sixth grades will participate in an egg toss.

The event will be held rain or shine and children should bring their own baskets or containers for the eggs. Don't be late!

Help plant trees at the town forest

Tree Warden David Nickerson and the Town Tree Preservation and Protection Commmittee invite all islanders to grab their gloves and shovels and join them at the town forest to help plant 300 native American seedling trees on Saturday, April 15, starting at 9 a.m.

The forest is between the Melrose and Lawn avenue schools. Call Judy DiBello at 423-1241. Library will be closed on Easter Sunday

The Jamestown library will be closed on Sunday April 16. Sunday hours, from 1 to 5 p.m., will resume on April 23 and continue until May 21.

Free yoga for those with Lyme disease

The Jamestown recreation department is offering free yoga classes designed specifically for those suffering from Lyme disease. The class will meet in the north room of the golf course studio on Thursday, April 20, and April 27, at 6 p.m. The class is for Lyme sufferers only and limited to 10 students. In order to attend, participants must reserve a spot with the recreation department by calling 423-7211.

This class is for any fitness level. No prior yoga experience is needed.

Participants will learn specific techniques that will help to alleviate the symptoms brought on by Lyme disease.

The class has been designed by and will be taught by Kim Ferguson. She is a certified multilevel yoga instructor and registered with the National Yoga Alliance. For more information, call her at 423-7411.
