St. Michael's parents group develops cookbook for fund-raiser
St. Michael's Country Day School will soon release its cookbook: "Flavors of a Newport Summer," put together by the Parents' Association.
Recipes for the cookbook, one of the parents' most ambitious undertakings to date, have been submitted by members of the parent community and 21 local restaurants and inns.
The artwork will be a combination of works by St. Michael's students, from pre-kindergarten through grade 7, and prominent local artists.
Money raised from cookbook sales will be earmarked for school activities, assemblies, field trips, and materials for classroom support, organizers said.
"Flavors of a Newport Summer" will go on sale May 1 for $16.95 at Frazzleberries, Papers, Spring Fever, the Foreside Company, and the mansion stores for the Preservation Society of Newport County.
The book can also be ordered online from the St. Michael's Web site at www.stmichaelscountryday. org/community.
