Jamestown baseball update

Registrations for rookie league, 7and 8-year-olds, and instructional league, 5to 6-yearolds, will continue to be accepted until Friday, April 28.

Green-up Day is scheduled for Saturday, April 29, starting at 8:30 a.m. at the fields. Teams will be formed to work on each field as well as the concession stand. Players, families, coaches, and other volunteers will be needed to take part in a long list of tasks. Volunteers should bring work gloves, rakes, shovels, trash bags, and wheel barrels. Also needed are people who can help anchor shelves and other items concrete block. Contact Tony Rafanelli, 423-3953, for more in formation.

Opening day ceremonies will be on Saturday morning, May 6. Players and families should refer to the Jamestown Press for updated information on this event as well as news throughout the season.

The Jamestown Baseball Association is asking various civic organizations to consider sponsoring recycling receptacles. Contact Tony Rafanelli, 423-3953, for more information. Also, the league is in need of a weatherproof public address system.
