Teacher Appreciation Week set by council

A school is as good as its teachers.

Jamestown School's ranking as "high performing" is a tribute to our high performing teaching staff.

The School Committee recognizes that our ongoing discussion of reorganizing the school department has been difficult for both teachers and students. Because of our commitment to examine all options, many of the questions raised are as yet unanswered. Throughout this unsettling period, our teachers have provided a constant in the lives of our students, offering guidance, encouragement, and the opportunity to learn in a stable, challenging environment. The School Committee deeply appreciates their dedication and professionalism.

May 9 is National Teacher Appreciation Day. The Town Council has proclaimed May 8 through 14 "Teacher Appreciation

Week" in Jamestown. Please join the School Committee in saluting the teaching staff and leadership of Jamestown schools and gratefully acknowledging their many significant contributions to public education.
