Spanish students excel

Dear Jamestown,

I would like to send my sincere appreciation to all of the 8th-grade Spanish students for their incredible efforts to gather school supplies and money to help their friends and pen pals in Nicaragua.

Together they gathered over 90 pounds of crayons, pencils, markers, paper, and notebooks for me to bring down to Nicaragua this week. But they exceeded all of my expectations, and I think their own, when the final tally of money gathered was over $400 dollars! It brought tears to my eyes to see how powerful a group of students can be. Their efforts were astounding, and I would like to thank them all for their incredible job well done. They have also sent letters in Spanish to their pen pals, and I am so excited to deliver everything to the schools. They should be proud of themselves and deserve a huge round

of applause for helping to improve the lives of others in need!

Muchas gracias!
