Town officials to release Siegmund arbitration documents

Town Solicitor J. William W. Harsch late Tuesday afternoon said he and town officials have decided to provide access later this week to documents pertaining to the town's arbitration case with Laszlo Siegmund, of Sigmund and Associates, a Providence engineering firm, who Monday issued a letter criticizing town officials. Siegmund sent a copy of his letter to State Attorney Patrick Lynch, whom Harsch is challenging in the November election.

Last week, the town claimed the arbitration award of $47,105 to Siegmund and nothing to the town represented a "draw." In his letter, Siegmund said it was his win.

The arbitration documents, described by the town as a "boxload," will be reviewed for a report in next week's Jamestown Press. Harsch said he also would provide his interpretation of the documents. The Town Council is considering whether or not to

appeal the decision of the arbitration panel. The town already has spent more than $200,000 on the arbitration process.
