Two arrested for break-in
Joshua Neves, 18, of Newport, and John O'Loughlin, 18, of North Kingstown, were charged May 7 in connection with a breakin on Howland Avenue.
Neves was charged with breaking and entering, making threats to a witness, and for being in possession of a 36-inch flat screen TV, police said, adding that Neves is scheduled to appear June 22 in Newport Superior Court.
O'Loughlin was charged with breaking and entering and is scheduled for a pre-arraignment conference May 19, police said.
Marijuana possession charged
Jonathan J. Owens, 21, of Newport was charged May 9 with
a count of possessing marijuana after police were called to a large party at Head's Beach.
Owens is scheduled to appear May 19 in Newport District Court, police said.
Larcenies reported
+ A resident of Seaside Drive told police May 9 that items were taken from the yard. Missing were a wheelbarrow, some rakes, hand tools and folding lawn chairs, police said.
+ A Bayview Drive man told police May 9 that someone broke into his house and stole a black sweatshirt.
+ A Clinton Avenue resident reported May 6 the theft of 12 bridge tokens from his car.
+ A resident of Narragansett Avenue told police May 6 that seven solar walkway lamps were stolen from the property.
+ A Clinton Avenue resident reported the theft May 6 of eight bridge tokens from his car.
Vandalism reported
+ A Windsor Street woman reported May 6 that her fence was damaged.
+ A resident of Columbia Avenue reported May 6 that her flowers were damaged.
+ A summer resident called police to check out possible damage to his pier off Highland Drive.
