Internet safety workshop for teens, parents offered
These days parents may not be fully aware of what their children are doing, on the Internet.
Many kids these days know more about computers than adults do, making the parents' jobs very difficult.
On Tuesday, May 23, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Melrose school, the Jamestown Police Department and Lawn Avenue School's Student Assistance Program are co-sponsoring a presentation by Internet safety expert, Lawrence Filippelli.
Those attentending the presentation will have an opportunity to learn how to keep teens safe while using the Internet. This presentation will include videos about abductions not far from Rhode Island and actual hands-on exploration of the Internet.
This is a presentation for both students and parents. For more information, contact Stephanie Wordell at the Lawn school Wednesday through Friday or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
