Family Sailing Fest Saturday

Sail Newport will host its annual Family Sailing Festival on Saturday, May 27, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free sailing event is open to the public and will take place at Sail Newport's Alofsin Piers in Fort Adams State Park.

Individuals of all ages are invited to board Sail Newport J22 sailboats to enjoy sailing in Newport Harbor and Brenton Cove. No experience is necessary, and Sail Newport will provide life jackets and experienced skippers to drive the boats. Reservations are not necessary, and parking, located next to the piers, is free. Boat rides will be made available as long as weather permits on Saturday.

Sail Newport is a designated Rhode Island Public Sailing Center. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing affordable access to sailing and to Narragansett Bay. The event is held to promote Sail Newport's public sailing programs, lessons and rentals which open for the season this weekend.
