Drug charges filed

Michael C. Aiden, 22, of Michigan was charged May 26 with driving with a suspended license and being in possession of controlled substances after being caught speeding on Route 138.

After being stopped, Aiden was found to have bags of marijuana in his pockets and a bag of Vicodin pills in the trunk, which resulted in his being charged with a felony, police said.

Aiden is scheduled to be arraigned June 2 in Newport District Court, police said.

Drunk driving charges

+ A 17-year-old male was charged with drunk driving May 29 after he had an accident while driving a golf cart on Rosemary Lane. A friend sustained minor injuries in the accident, police said.

The youth was turned over to Family Court, police said.

+ Marc S. Lattinville, 18, of North Kingstown was charged May 25 with drunk driving after a low-speed chase with police through the village at 1:30 a.m.

Lattinville is due to appear June 9 in Newport District Court, police said.

+ James Correia Jr., 49, of Westport, Mass., was charged with drunk driving May 25 after a motorist called police to report that Correia was driving his motorcycle erratically on Route 138. Correia is scheduled to appear June 9 in Newport District Court, police said.

Disorderly conduct charged

Mark D. Ward, 48, of North Kingstown was charged May 28 with disorderly conduct after an altercation at an eatery on Narragansett Avenue.

Ward is due in Newport District Court on June 2, police said.

Domestic assault charged

David Dourado, 28, of 218 Capstan St. was charged May 29 with domestic assault for allegedly hitting the female victim, causing a bruised face and lower back. Police said Dourado broke a telephone in the confrontation, which resulted in a domestic vandalism charge.

Dourado is scheduled to appear June 9 in Newport District Court, police said.

License charges

+ Gerald E. Wimbish, 28, of Newport was charged May 27 with driving with a suspended license after he had a minor accident at East Ferry.

Wimbish is due June 2 in Newport District Court, police said.

+ Driving with expired license

Rosemarie K. MacCardle, 37, of Wakefield was charged with driving with an expired license May 25 after a traffic stop on Route 138.

She is due in Newport District Court June 9, police said.

+ William R. Keenan, 18, of Warwick was charged May 25 with driving without a license after a rollover accident on the corner of Blueberry Lane and Walcott Avenue. Police said that Keenan had a learner's permit, which did not allow him to drive without being accompanied by an adult.

Larceny reported

A man from Conanicus Avenue told police May 24 that someone stole his keys.

Vandalism reported

A resident of Columbia Avenue reported May 28 that someone egged the house.
