North Kingstown High School honors students for scholastic achievement

Jamestown students attending North Kingstown High School were presented with honors at the school's June 4 Awards Night.

Awards were given for academic excellence by every department to all four grade levels that attend the high school.

For excellence and her contribution to the Art Department, Genevieve Dupre received an Art Department Award. Alicia Lane received the Lamont Moore Award for excellence in drawing.

For her outstanding performance in business studies, Anna Miniutti received the General Treasurer's Award. Kristen Ferguson received the Outstanding Achievement in Business Studies Award.

In grade 9 English, Alexander Clarke received the Excellence Award.

Christopher Beye received the Outstanding Academic Achievement award in mathematics.

For high scores in the AMC 10, Nathan Wigton took first place and John Chase took the third-place award.

Corey Lester received an award for his performance on the AMC 12.

In the music department, Bethany Clarke received the Musical Theater Service Award.

In science, John Chase received a biology award and Nathaniel Vigneault received an award in earth science.

Molly Welsh received an Excellence Award in U.S. History I and Alexander Birn received the Achievement Award in U.S. History I.

In U.S. History II, Caitlin Hull received the Excellence Award.

The Top Ten NK Seniors included Erin Simmons, in the number two position, and Katelyn Aynalem, in the number five slot.

Several book awards were given to Jamestown students.

Meryl Evangelista received the Brown University Book Award. Kelsey Wiggin received the Harvard Book Award. Caitlin Crawford was the recipient of the Holy Cross Book Award.

Marisa Nixon received the Johnson and Wales Business Book Award. Meaghan Hitt received the Lesley College Book Award. New England Institute of Technology Book Awards were given to William Petrarca and Laura Uttley. Michael Marshall received the St. Michael's College Book Award. The Secretary of State Civic Leadership Awards went to Adam DiLuglio and Lindsay Hamilton.

Erin Simmons was a National Merit Scholar finalist and was the school's Salutatorian at the June 17 graduation ceremony.
