Drunk driving charged
Paul J. Sliker, 18, of Wakefield was charged June 14 with drunk driving after a traffic stop for speeding on North Main Road.
Sliker was also charged with refusing to take a Breathalyzer test, police said.
He is scheduled to appear June 30 in Newport District Court, police said.
Joseph F. Vaillencourt, 31, of South Attleboro, Mass. was charged June 19 with obstructing an officer in the line of duty after he was stopped for driving erratically and hitting a tree on Route 138. While being charged, he attempted to walk away and was uncooperative, police said.
Vaillencourt pleaded no contest at his arraignment and was given one year of probation and orderd to pay court costs, police said.
Petra A. Napolitano, 33, of New York City was charged June 19 with several counts after she allegedly entered two different residences on Blueberry Lane, startling the owners.
When approached by police, Napolitano allegedly became combative and damaged household items. She also was charged with assaulting a police officer by punching and kicking him, police said.
Napolitano is scheduled to appear June 30 in Newport District Court, police said.
Suspended license charged
Benjamin P. Coulter, 21, of Newport was charged June 21 with driving with a suspended license after a traffic stop for speeding on Route 138.
Coulter is scheduled to appear June 30 in Newport District Court, police said.
A woman from Newport Street told police June 19 that her passport and some jewelry were missing from her house.
Acts of vandalism reported
+ A man from Highland Drive told police June 15 that his mailbox had been knocked over.
+ A resident of Mt. Hope Avenue reported June 16 that someone drove on his lawn and damaged the turf.
+ A Seaside Drive man reported that his mailbox had been hit by a car.
