Loretta A. Smith, 72
Loretta A. (Caldarone) Smith, 72, of Jamestown, formerly of Warwick, died peacefully July 5, 2006 with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Alfred G. Smith for 54 years.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Natalie (DelFino) Barbieri and the late William Barbieri and Michael Caldarone of Warwick, she was a very strong courageous woman who always set an example of great determination in all she was challenged with in life.

She was blessed with a beautiful family. Mrs. Smith is survived by a daughter, Sheila A. Cicerchia of Warwick and seven grandchildren; her brother and best friend, Michael Caldarone of Cranston, Alfred Caldarone of Warwick, and Linda Beaudry of Cranston.
She was predeceased by her son Jamie. Mrs. Smith lived in Jamestown for the past 23 years.
Her funeral was held July 10 from the Nardolillo Funeral Home in Cranston, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary's Church. Burial was private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Samaritans of RI, P.O. Box 9086, Providence, RI 02940.
