What a fabulous CIAA Art Exhibit!

I believe all who attended will agree that the fine work of Jamestown artists grows more exciting and professional every year, and that this 32nd annual show may have been the best ever.

Congratulations to all who entered, and especially to prize winners: first, Jeremy Swain; second, Patricia McCandless; and third, Jane McNally Wright. Honorable mentions were given to Alex Carlisle (also a CIAA scholarship winner,) Allie Sabalis, Jillian Barber, and Karen Krider.

We owe an enormous debt of gratitude to Tania Biddle, show manager, who worked for weeks to organize a seamless and

beautiful presentation, with help from Co-Manager Barbara Hutchison. The town has been very generous to allow us the use of the Community Center. Matt Bolles and the recreation department staff can't be thanked enough for their assistance. Karen Imbriale did an excellent job of hanging and arranging the work. Gorgeous floral arrangements were provided by members of the Jamestown and Quononoquott Garden Clubs. The juror, David Barnes, made some very interesting selections.

The work and dedication of the following people made everything happen as if there were a cast of thousands: Priscilla Foley, Gail Bolger, Katie Grimes, Sylvia Quinn, Josy Wright, Carla Cook, Betsey Outerbridge, Alice Gaither, Lois Shapleigh, Cynthia Blair, Jocelyn Donahue, Don Gillis, Don Miller, Ben Buglio, Prim Bullock, Helna Babcock. Prudy Sellers, Sally Garnett, Isabel Coyle, Pat Tuff, Eileen Muldoon, Betty Kinder, Heidi Moon,

Lish Garnett, Ellen Noble, and Linda Brodin. Louise Brendlinger of Catering Concepts provided delicious munchies for opening night.

If anyone has ideas for a permanent gallery space for our very active CIAA member artists to show their work, please let us know. Kate Petrie, president,

for the Conanicut Island Art Association
