Visit the Naval War College Museum
The Naval War College Museum, located on the grounds of the Newport Naval Station in Newport, is currently expanding its programs offered to the public. The museum, which features a vast array of naval artifacts and historical information, is looking forward to welcoming the public back, and all events are free of charge.
Museum officials are currently arranging a lecture series, which will feature authors of newly released publications. Museum officials encourage the public to look for upcoming programming and events, which are scheduled for later this summer and into the fall.
Museum officials are also looking for individuals interested in internships and docent positions. Internships are available in many areas, including but not limited to: education, research, Web-site design, and public relations.
The naval museum is open Monday to Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with extended hours on weekends from June to September, noon to 4 p.m. All events are free and open to the public. However, a reservation and photo ID are required.
