Drug possession charged
+ Brandon F. Leo, 20, of Hope was charged July 28 with several counts of drug possession after police received a 4 a.m. call about disorderly youths in a Narragansett Avenue parking lot.
Leo was charged with possession of alcoholic beverages by an underage person, possession of marijuana, and possession of an assortment of tablets and capsules, including methamphetamines, on the back seat of the car.
Leo is scheduled to appear Sept. 14 in Newport District Court, police said.
+ Colin S. Kelly, 25, of Butler, Penn., was charged July 27 with three counts of drug possession after a traffic stop on Route 138.
Kelly had amounts of "surfwell," other tablets, and some heroin in a syringe, police said.
He is due to appear Sept. 14 in Newport District Court, police said.
Arrested for trespassing
Anthony W. Russo, 20, who police listed as homeless, was charged July 30 with willful trespassing on a North Main Road property after he was warned to stay away.
Russo is due to appear Aug. 11 in Newport District Court, police said.
Marijuana possession charged
Ashley Lavoie, 19, of Coventry was charged July 27 with possession of marijuana after being stopped on Conanicus Avenue.
At her arraignment, Lavoie pleaded no contest and had the charge filed for one year, she was ordered to pay $200 to the victims' compensation fund and court costs, police said.
A woman from Conanicus Avenue told police July 30 that someone had poured an unknown clear substance into her car's gas tank.
