Garden club opens healthy landscapes to public
The Quononoquott Garden Club is inviting the public to learn about healthy landscapes at the Jamestown library on Monday, Aug. 21, at 1 p.m.
A project of the URI Cooperative Extension, the "Healthy Landscapes" program addresses the care needed to produce a beautiful garden when water is a limited resource, especially during a dry summer.
Dorothy Read, a retired professor of biology at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, and Caryle Storm, retired university chemist, both master gardeners, will present the program.
For two weeks prior to the program, visit the Jamestown library to view an exhibit relating to the topic put together by Holly Burdett of the URI Cooperative Extension.
This promises to be an informative program not to be missed by any garden lover.
For more information, call Jill Meyer, program co-ordinator, at 423-9849.
