Georgena Wetherill Stanger, 91
Georgena Wetherill Stanger, 91, of 64 Bayview Drive, died Sunday, Aug.13, at home, after a short illness. She was the wife of the late John Hallowell Stanger.
Born in Philadelphia, Pa., on July 14, 1915, she was the daughter of Webster King Wetherill and Georgena Vaux Cresson.
She was a member of the Conanicut Yacht Club of Jamestown, the Jamestown Garden Club, and St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Jamestown.
She was a member of the Acorn Club of Philadelphia, the Free Quaker Society of Philadelphia, the Merion Cricket Club, the National Society of Colonial Dames, and the Hillsboro Club of Pompano Beach, Fla. She was a former member of St. David's Episcopal Church in Wayne Pa.
She was a 1934 graduate of Agnes Irwin School, Rosemont, Pa.
Mrs. Stanger is survived by two daughters, Susan S. Mitchell and Jean H. Stanger, and two grandchilren.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 23, at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Jamestown.
Burial will be in St. David's Episcopal Churchyard, on Saturday, Aug. 26, at 10 a.m.
