Humane society building pet/owner database
The Humane Society of Jamestown has initiated a pet identification program that will help reunite pet guardians with their pets when separated as a result of a natural disaster.
To that end, the Humane Society of Jamestown is delighted to have the support of Police Chief Thomas Tighe, director of Jamestown emergency management, in providing Jamestowners an opportunity to become a part of this pet identification data base.
To get a copy of the pet identification form, people should go to the society's Web site at http://members.cox.net/hsjjamestown ri and download and save the form on their computer. Then fill in and save all the requested information.
There are three ways to get the information to the society.
+ E-mail the completed form to firstname.lastname@example.org with a digital photo of you and your pet.
+ Print the completed form and send it with a colored photo to the Humane Society of Jamestown, P.O. Box 681, Jamestown, RI.
+ The Humane Society of Jamestown will take photos of your pet and you at the Lawn Avenue School on this Saturday, Aug. 26, from 10 a.m. to noon or at the Jamestown Police Station on Wednesday, Aug. 30, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Those choosing this option should bring the completed form with them.
Forms are available at the Town Hall, library and police station.
