Fallen soldiers honored at Sunday ceremony

There will be a public reading of the names of 2,600 U.S. servicemen and women killed in the Iraqi conflict since March of 2003 to the present time on Sunday, August 27 in Jamestown.

The reading of the honor roll will take place at the East Ferry Veterans Memorial Square on Conanicus Avenue starting at 1 p.m.

Because of the sheer number of names, a number of readers will be needed. Anyone interested in helping to read some of the names of fallen servicemen and women should contact organizer B.J. Whitehouse at 423-1574, e-mail him at bwhitehouse2@cox.net, or simply show up on Sunday and volunteer.
