Thanks from art association
braved the crushing heat to participate in and attend our annual CIAA Craft Show this year.
Thank-you to all of the talented craft artists on and off the island who set up their booths at the Community Center and tended them for two days. And thankyou to all who came and purchased items on display. The craft show helps support our scholarships to local students, along with many other programs that benefit our community.
Show Manager Christina Moorehead did an excellent job organizing and managing the show. Matt Bolles and the recreation department staff were very helpful. Jamestown, again, was generous to allow us the use of the Community Center. Pat Bolger and Don Gillis deserve our special thanks for the "heavy lifting," and our Treasurer Priscilla Foley put in lots of overtime.
Many of the craft artists I met at the show are interested in finding space to hold workshops and get-togethers. Please let us know if you have suggestions regarding a permanent "home" for our very active CIAA organization.
